I randomly found your site but it looks as if we are in similar life
situations. Your post really spoke to me! I am getting ready to leave
my corporate accounting job for the same reasons. I just started my
own blog crunchyrealfoodmom.com and I am going to try to make some
income from home. Good luck in your adventures!

Wow! This sounds like an exciting adventure, Cheryl.

I'm sorry to hear you'll be breaking away, for the most part, from helping mompreneurs. But I "get" where you're headed -- straight for the heart! :)

If you don't mind me saying it ...
Wonderful as it is, building a wilderness resort seems like a very costly undertaking. Will you be doing any fundraising campaigns to support your project? Are you planning to recruit volunteers? Getting your local businesses, clubs, or organizations involved?

Just curious ...

Great post- thank Melanie Kissell for bringing it to my attention.
Good luck.
And- working together works just fine if you each have a good attitude- and know when it's time to separate for a few minutes/hours!

Awesome for you that she follows a great sleep schedule! Don't get too hung up on baby being a "good" sleeper, though - you will adjust to any schedule she has, so forget everyone else's expectations! I know how you feel about missing her because she is in her crib, but why not try what we do? For middle of the night feedings, we bring her to bed with us (11pm, 4am, whenever that might be.) She doesn't stay all night, but if she wakes up after 4am I just lay in bed and allow her to nurse while we all cuddle and fall asleep together! Our daughter is now 10 months old, has been doing this since she was about your daughter's age, and sleeps in her crib/playpen/carseat/floor/anywhere! We actually stopped babywearing fairly young - it just didn't suit us or our daughter. You have to find what works for you! Don't worry so much about her being a "good" sleeper... If you want to only co-sleep after you go to bed, by all means go for it! Good luck :)

Hi, Cheryl,
I don't know you; I actually just stumbled upon this post and I know you posted it over a year ago! This post was really encouraging to me. I have a question for you if you have the time to answer. I am a breastfeeding, natural-in-a-hospital-with-a-midwife, crib-sleeping, and wanting to a be a babywearing mama of a 2 month old. My daughter is doing great with sleep--she follows a fairly predictable nap/sleep schedule (she's just fallen into it on her own) and is sleeping in her crib most of the time. But I find myself missing her since she sleeps so much and is in her crib! I want her to be able to sleep in her crib, but I also want to wear her for some naps, too. My fear is that if I start wearing her more she won't sleep in her crib anymore, and there are times that I do need her to sleep in her crib, especially since I have back problems. Do you find that babywearing interferes with your child's ability to sleep in his/her crib? Does it work to have them sleep in a wrap for some naps and in a crib for others?

http://www.mybabyfirst.com - (please delete this comment once you receive it)

I purchased this site 3 months ago (established in 2007) and am loving the progress I've made with it. It still seems scattered, but I'm getting rid of plastic-laden products and would like to offer *cloth diapers, baby shower gift ideas, and health/emergency preparedness info/products* (I'm a public health RN). I have this direction in mind, and am continuing to get business (though local would save me shipping costs).

Time of course, is an issue. I started another RN job this week (4 days a week) and have a baby. I'd love your input on my site and am doing your free 7 day trial. I hope your one-on-one conferences are on Thursdays (my day off)! :) Thank you for any help!
